MOUNTS FOR SALE

I’ve sold many mounts over the years; some were mounts that were unclaimed by clients, but most were mounts I’ve done specifically to sell. The birds in the “Wall of Pheasants” photo for instance, were mounted just to sell . I bought a bunch of roosters at one time, from a breeder, and then I mounted them up in my spare time. These are commercial type mounts and I charge less for these “wholesale” mounts than I do for custom work. The same thing goes for the Ermine and Red Squirrels, which are both freeze-dried, rather than mounted conventionally. The Black, Gray, and Fox Squirrels are mounted conventionally. In late fall and early winter when I’m running my trap line I keep my eyes peeled for squirrels because I’ve never met a fried squirrel I didn’t like. After cleaning them I will save the skins and mount them up to sell. It always seemed like a waste to just throw away the skins. It’s one way to utilize the whole critter, not to mention help out with the fuel bill!
