LIMITED EDITION PAINTINGS , PRINTS & PHOTO'S

Jan has been a wildlife painter and photographer for many years, having sold his first sketches back in the late 70’s or early 80’s. After a hiatus from painting of nearly 24 years, he recently picked up his brushes and is once again producing a small amount of “flat art.” The medium is usually acrylics, but he also uses watercolors and occasionally oils. Below are examples of some of his work.

Everything is Grass

The Plains Indians knew that every ecosystem was actually an interwoven web that connected all living things. The soil fed the grass, the grass fed the elk, the elk fed the predators and scavengers which, in turn, eventually fed the soil, starting the process once again.

This was my entry in the 2006 Federal waterfowl stamp contest.

Brookie on Stone

All but the Brookie on stone are done on tree conks or what some call Bracket Fungus. I have a vary limited number of conks. Some people furnish me with them when they have me paint something for them.
